Desenzano del Garda is one of the big cities on the shore of Lake Garda and, next to Peschiera, it is the second city connected to the main railroad in the area. In addition, the city is close to the motorway, and even if tourists do not necessarily plan to visit it, they must cross the city, at least as far as tourists who head westwards are concerned.

The port of Desenzano is deemed one of the largest ports at Lake Garda. It harbors plenty of boats tourists scan resort to in order to make trips to the neighboring cities.

Despite the fact shops and residential areas fill a large part of the city, they bring no harm to the nature beauty of the place.

People who get to Desenzano must keep in mind there are several objectives not to be disregarded, such as the City Hall, a building dating back to the 16th century, the Cathedral of Mary Magdalene, as well as the Medieval center of the city, the castle and the Rambotti Museum of Archeology.
